NOSE AESTHETICS (RHINOPLASTY)

Rhinoplasty aims to harmonize the structural features of the nose with the overall proportions and expression of the face. This approach addresses not only aesthetic expectations but also functional problems such as breathing difficulties. For a successful outcome, personalized planning is carried out, considering parameters such as skin thickness, cartilage-bone structure, septal deviation, and nasal valve stenosis.

Who is it Suitable For?

  • Those with Aesthetic Concerns Regarding Nose Shape: Individuals with visual issues like a hump on the nasal dorsum, or a large, wide, or droopy nasal tip.
  •  Those Experiencing Functional Breathing Problems: People suffering from severe difficulty breathing due to a deviated septum or nasal valve stenosis, where this condition negatively affects their quality of life.
  • Asymmetries and Deformities Resulting from Trauma: Those with noticeable asymmetries in the nasal tip or general nasal structure, whether congenital or due to trauma.

PLANNING & APPROACH

Includes comprehensive examination, internal structure analysis with nasal endoscopy, photography, and (when necessary) imaging assessment.

The goal is to achieve natural-looking results that support facial expression, are far from exaggeration, and address functional issues simultaneously if required.

SURGICAL APPROACHES (General Framework)

  • Open Rhinoplasty:A small incision is made on the underside of the nose (columella), the skin is lifted, allowing the surgeon to directly access the cartilage and bone structures under full visualization. It is the most preferred method, especially in complex cases, revisions, or when detailed tip/cartilage shaping is required.
  • Closed Rhinoplasty:All incisions are made inside the nostrils. There is no visible external incision scar. It may be suitable for some cases requiring less extensive changes and aiming for faster recovery.
  • Techniques Used:The surgeon determines the most appropriate technique based on the patient's nasal anatomy, skin tissue characteristics, cartilage/bone structure status, severity of breathing problems, and the desired outcome. Functional corrections such as septal deviations (septoplasty), enlarged turbinates (turbinate hypertrophy), and nasal valve stenosis can be addressed in the same session.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will my breathing problem be fixed with rhinoplasty?

When functional problems (deviation, concha hypertrophy, nasal valve stricture) are planned to be addressed in the same session, breathing quality may improve. The final decision is based on examination findings.

There is no single "better" technique; there is only the most suitable one. Open rhinoplasty is suitable for detailed procedures, while closed rhinoplasty is suitable for faster recovery and to avoid external scarring. The decision is made with your surgeon based on your nasal structure.

Yes, it can (Tip Plasty). If there is no problem with your nasal dorsum (hump), a more upturned and aesthetic look can be achieved by operating only on the nasal tip. A detailed examination is required.

There is almost no permanent scar. The very fine scar under the nose in the open technique fades over time. In the closed technique, there is no external scar as all incisions are inside the nostril.
